PICTURES: Inverness's Miss Scotland reflects on her time in India competing for Miss World

Inverness's reigning Miss Scotland has reflected on the 'incredible time' she had at this year's 71st Miss World competition as she went up against over 100 women from across the globe.

Chelsie Allison (26) scooped the title of Miss Scotland in October.

The Tesco Mobile retail manager has spent the past five weeks in India as part of the Miss World competition.

Despite not bringing the crown home to Inverness, she certainly made Scotland proud as she walked the runway in the flags colour.

Chelsie also surprised the audience with her tartan ball gown that was handcrafted by Clare Campbell from the Prickly Thistle.

When talking about her show stopping Scottish tartan dress, she said: "We all had to do a catwalk in a dress made by a designer local to us, for this I wore a dress designed by Prickly Thistle.

"Clare did an incredible job of designing this. The Rebel Warrior Queen creation is a paradox of the past and the future.

"Featuring three key parts, the body wrap, kilted maxi and a “step aside” bolero with flowing train.

"All of the fabric was woven by Prickly Thistle, using responsibly sourced wool yarns.

"All three key parts to the Rebel Warrior Queen creation are made from squares, rectangles and triangles resulting in zero fabric waste and in time can come apart to be usable fabric blocks for the next lifetime."

Miss Scotland also spent her time in India supporting the 'save the tiger' campaign that highlighted the importance of protecting the tigers and how critical it is to preserve the Earth's biodiversity.

Chelsie thrived in the multimedia challenge as she managed to reach thousands of people and drive excellent engagement that consisted of likes, shares and followers on her social media account.

From making it in the top 20 model shortlist, to dancing a traditional Highland fling for the Miss World talent show, Chelsie has certainly done it all.

Since the Miss World final show was broadcast on Saturday, Chelsie has been 'filled with gratitude' to be a part of the 'incredible experience'.

She said: "I am beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity to represent my beautiful country and have met all these amazing women from across the world.

"Every single second of this journey has been incredible.

"It is an experience that I will truly never forget and cherish in my heart forever."

In aid of the pageant, Chelsie took the liberty of supporting the Highland Hospice as her chosen charity after two of her relatives, who sadly passed away, were taken into the hospice where they received an exceptional standard of care.

She now plans to continue her work alongside the hospice and aims to raise as much money as possible for the cause.
