Inverness's reigning Miss Scotland has revealed her next steps after she competed at this year's 71st Miss World competition as she went up against over 100 women from across the globe.

Chelsie Allison (26) scooped the title of Miss Scotland in October.

The Tesco Mobile retail manager has spent the past five weeks in India as part of the Miss World competition.

She said: "I am now back in Inverness!

"In terms of my position as Miss Scotland, I hope to use the momentum from Miss World to help raise as much awareness and support for not only the Highland Hospice, but other charities all over Scotland.

"I plan to get involved with as many as I possibly can as I have been so inspired by all the amazing work the other contestants have done.

"I also have lots of Hospice events coming up that I’m delighted to be part of, so I’m excited to see what else the future holds for me."

When talking about her favourite part of the Miss World experience, she said: "As cliché as it may sound, the best part was genuinely meeting all of the other amazing contestants.

"I met so many inspirational women, from all over the world, with so many different stories with a purpose.

"It’s really given me a different outlook on life and I truly feel I’ve met friends for life."

Chelsie felt as if she was living a 'dream' when walking down the runway at the finale of Miss World in India.

She said: "Walking down the runway felt like a dream looking back now.

"I still can’t get over the fact that a normal girl like me, from the Scottish Highlands, was given the opportunity to be on such an amazing global platform.

"It’s an experience I will never forget!"
