Overcoming adversity in life always requires great strength and perseverance but when those challenges are faced by children, it takes true courage.

Highland Heroes celebrates the most courageous youngsters in our communities with the category of brave child of the year. The award will be presented to a child who has overcome extreme adversity or shown exceptional courage or bravery in their life.

Peter Mason, director at Macleod & MacCallum, said: “We are delighted to once again support Highland Heroes and in particular the brave child of the year award. There are so many brave children in our community who face unrelenting challenges and adversity in their young lives.

“The nominations for the brave child award are always so inspiring and humbling, and of course the last few years have been particularly challenging for our children and young people.”

Alison Martin, also a director at the legal firm, added: “Everyone at Macleod & MacCallum, would encourage everybody to get behind Highland Heroes 2023 and support this important campaign. Please nominate a brave child in your community. They deserve to be celebrated for battling through their difficulties in these unprecedented times and being nominated is a recognition of what they have achieved in their young lives.”

Scott Dallas, a director of the legal firm, said: “It would be great if as many people as possible could support these awards by nominating and voting in due course – it means so much to the young people who are nominated to realise how much support they have in the wider community.”

Highland Heroes, sponsored by Inverness Airport, feature 14 categories where you can nominate individuals or groups in your community. New for 2023 is the green hero award which will be presented to an individual who is helping to create a cleaner, greener future.
