Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed that Shane Sutherland has become the third player to sign a new contract at the club today.

Aaron Doran and Wallace Duffy had already been announced as having signed one-year extensions, and now Sutherland has followed suit.

The 31-year-old returned to the Highland capital in the summer of 2020, having spent seven years away from the club in part time football after coming through Caley Thistle's youth system.

Sutherland had been a key performer for Inverness last season, finishing the season as the club's top league scorer with 10 goals.

However, he suffered a serious knee injury in the second half of the play-off semi final second leg away at Arbroath that looks set to keep him on the sidelines for a number of months.

Such was his impact for Billy Dodds' side across the 2021/22 campaign, though, the Caley Jags offered him a new deal to ensure his recovery would go as smoothly as possible and give him a chance to continue his career with Inverness.
