The Tooth and Claw pub in Inverness city centre is to close for most of the rest of the month.
In an announcement on its Facebook page owners of the Tooth and Claw pub in Baron Taylor's Street said: "Due to the restrictions coming into place this evening, we are faced with no option but to temporarily close.
"This is not something we want to do.
"The 10pm curfew made trading conditions difficult as it is and this new 6pm and alcohol free restrictions make it just impossible."
They added: "Hell, our banter doesn't even start flowing until then. Our house rule must stand!
"Hopefully we will see you all for Halloween!?"
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced more stringent measures on Wednesday in attempt to counter a rise in the number of Covid-19 infections.
While licensed premises across much of the central belt have been ordered to close until October 26 those in the Highlands – where infection rates are lower – are allowed to remain open subject to restrictions on when they can serve alcohol.
Many traders, however, have said even this makes it unviable for them to open.
The Number 27 bar and restaurant in Castle Street, The Fluke in Culcabock Road and the Rocpool restaurant are among those also closing for the duration of the restrictions while the Rose Street Foundry in Academy Street has announced it won't now reopen until the spring.
