Highland Council has revealed a list of closure dates for the Infirmary Bridge in Inverness.

It is mainly during events such as the Inverness Highland Games, civic bonfire and Hogmanay event.

A spokesman said: "The bridge requires to be closed during such events in order to protect public safety and prevent serious damage which could be caused to the footbridge if used by large numbers of people during events held on public roads or venues nearby.

"Footpath Closed signs will be installed during closures.

"An alternative route will be available using Ness Walk Upper, Bishop's Road, Ardross Terrace, Ness Walk, the Ness Bridge, Castle Road, Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road."
