A 22 year-old man has been arrested at a house in Inverness after a nine-hour stand-off with police in riot gear.
Officers surrounded the property after the ‘concern for a person’ disturbance at Mill Court in South Kessock just before 3 am this morning after neighbours raised concerns about the occupant’s behaviour.

The man was later seen perched precariously on an upper floor window sill and came and went from view repeatedly through the morning.
Police negotiators, who were backed up by an ambulance crew and a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crew from Inverness, spent hours at the scene trying to encourage the man to leave the property.
A dozen police vehicles attended the incident in all.
Social workers were also present during the lengthy stand-off, while groups of neighbours congregated outside a police cordon blocking off the cul-de-sac.
It is understood the man was eventually led from the premises sometime after 12 noon,
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 2.55 am on Friday, 17 May, 2024, police received a report of a disturbance at a property in the Mill Court area of Inverness.
“A 22-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the disturbance and enquiries are ongoing."
