Nairnshire turned spooky last week with residents of all ages enjoying an array of Halloween celebrations.
From community celebrations to parties in local businesses, there was something for everyone to enjoy in the week leading up to October 31.
Among events was a storytelling night in Auldearn, where the community gathered to celebrate Samhain and to remember the lives of Isobel Gowdie and others accused during the Scottish witch hunts.

Local artist and organiser of the gathering, Helen Wright, said: “A number of writers, poets, musicians, singers and storytellers performed to an outdoor audience of around 60 adults and children. In spite of the extremely cold evening, they stayed and commented in very positive terms on the gathering. Hopefully, it will be staged every year.”
Local football team Nairn Fire also took the opportunity to raise funds for the team whilst having a ball in fancy dress and there was also Halloween fun for the grown ups at the Havelock House Hotel.
