PICTURES: Work continues to remove 'hazardous' roadside trees and debris that has closed the A82 between Invergarry and Invermoriston since Wednesday
Hazardous trees battered by Storm Gerrit are being removed from on and beside the A82 as a huge tidy-up operation to reopen the route between Invermoriston and Invergarry continues.
BEAR Scotland teams are still working to clear the road south of Fort Augustus, with a long diversion in place.
In an update a short time ago, a spokesman for the roads maintenance agency explained why the clearance work was taking so long.
He said: "Our teams are continuing to work hard to clear fallen trees following Storm Gerrit with works progressing well.
"There are several hazardous trees that need to be felled."
The road closed on Wednesday afternoon after numerous trees were uprooted in the ferocious storm winds battering much of Scotland.
