The A82 road has fully reopened 48 hours after Storm Gerrit caused chaos by bringing numerous trees crashing down across the surface south of Fort Augustus.

BEAR Scotland teams had worked through the night to remove debris, trunks and branches, while also felling destabilised trees by the roadside.

The huge effort finally led to the last section of the Inverness-Fort William-Glasgow road reopening at about 5pm today.
