Hospitality venues and staff will be recognised at a prestigious awards ceremony next week.

The Inverness Best Bar None Awards 2023 will take place at the Mercure Hotel on Tuesday with representatives of 21 city premises attending, with 150 guests expected.

Best Bar None (BBN), has been a feature within the Inverness hospitality sector since 2006 to recognise the contribution made by venues in the promotion of high standards and professionalism.

The awards event is again organised by Don Lawson, proprieter of Johnny Foxes and chairman of Inverness Pub Watch in conjunction with and closely supported by Inverness BID.

John McDonald, safety manager at Inverness BID, said: “BBN has been seen as an opportunity for the hospitality venues in and across Inverness to celebrate their contribution to the vitality and economic vibrancy of Inverness, without which we wouldn’t have the amount of visitors and type of entertainment and hospitality and venues available to us.

“It’s seen as a premier event for the industry themselves and is an opportunity to celebrate all their hard work with management, colleagues and friends. It’s a time for them to relax after new year, recharge their batteries and celebrate after a long difficult run up and festive time.”

Mr Lawson said: “BBN is not voted by the public. It’s about standards of service, hospitality and customer care and meeting and exceeding the licensing objectives. The fact many premises are operating at a high level over years shows the strength and dedication of our hospitality trade and we look forward to celebrating.”
