MKM Building Supplies thanked by Highland Hospice for 'incredible' Catwalk for a Cause fundraiser success

DELIGHTED charity chiefs have thanked a Highland business after their sponsorship efforts raised almost £75,000.

Highland Hospice has paid tribute to MKM Building Supplies after the firm sponsored the successful recent Catwalk for a Cause.

The glitzy event shone a light on brave people from across the Highlands and gave them the chance to share "their own journey with cancer and how it affected them".

And the building supplies firm were thanked by the hospice for their sponsorship of the event, which was brought to the charity by Catwalk for a Cause organiser Alison McRitchie – and helped to raise £74,500 for both the hospice and the End of Life Care Together Project.

The Highland Hospice’s fundraiser Emma Nicol joined Alison to visit representatives of MKM Building Supplies, offering thanks for their incredible generosity in making the glitzy yet incredibly emotional event, a massive success.

Alison, who shared her own experience of cancer at the event, said: “I’m still in shock at the level of support we received on the night, and the kindness of so many local businesses and individuals.”

“The contribution made by MKM Building Supplies was significant in making the event a success, and I wanted to thank them personally for the difference their support will make to so many people.”

Emma explained: “Catwalk for a Cause was such a special event, showcasing some brave individuals from throughout the Highlands, who shared their own journey with cancer and how it affected them.”

The strength and solidarity these models showed on the night was amazing, and there was so much emotion when they took to the catwalk showcasing clothes from the Hospice’s retail collection.”

“On behalf of Highland Hospice, huge thanks to MKM Building Supplies for their generosity, and to Alison for bringing such an outstanding event to us. We really can’t thank them enough.”

Catwalk for a Cause was held in the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness last month. Special guests were Steve Bland and Lauren Mahon from the award-winning podcast ‘You, Me and the Big C’, who paid tribute to their co-host the late Dame Deborah James.
