Brave individuals whose lives have been affected by cancer took to the catwalk modelling sustainable fashion at an event to support a range of causes.

Last night's fundraising event at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness generated £74,000.

It will go to Highland Hospice and the End of Life Care Together partnership – which includes organisations across voluntary, health and social care including Highland Hospice, NHS Highland, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Macmillan Cancer Relief – will also benefit.

People modelled clothing from hospice boutiques and told their own individual stories.

The event was organised by Alison McRitchie, who runs the Head Gardener salon in Church Street.

A hospice spokesman said: "We are over the moon with this very special event, Catwalk for a Cause which raised a whopping £74,000.

"Huge thanks to our incredible supporter Alison McRitchie, from The Head Gardener, for choosing the hospice to benefit from it.

"The models and speakers were all incredible, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

"Thank you Ali, you are such an inspiration."

More coverage to come this week.
