An Inverness community garden created by young people on a previously unused and overgrown space will open its gates to the public tomorrow.
The Grant Street Community Garden in Merkinch has been developed by the The Clay Studio, a small charity which focusses on youth work, community development, promoting art and providing rentable 24-hour affordable art spaces to enable accessibility to local artists and creators.

Over the past two years, it has worked with young people to clear the site, level the ground and secure the area.
The project has also involved installing a shed, greenhouse, landscaping and building raised beds, a bug hotel, water butt and seating while a pizza oven is also to be added.
As well as learning to grow and look after vegetables, the young participants have been heavily involved in last year’s art installation of a Frida Kahlo wall mosaic.
This year, they have been working intensively on a Vincent Van Gogh art piece which will be presented as part of tomorrow’s launch of the community garden to the public.
The Clay Studio works with other organisations to provide heavily subsidised summer programmes including activities such as paddle boarding, tree top trails, gorge walking, bushcraft and go-karting.
It also runs an affordable weekly youth club for junior and senior groups, classes with adults and classes with young people with additional support needs, one-to-one clay building classes, an after-school garden and other projects,
It is a member club of Youth Highland, a partner organisations which also works in the national Youth Work Outcomes and Skills Framework, and the Studio is the Inverness Youth Hub for the Highland region.
The public open event takes place between noon and 2pm.
