Celebrating Amy is set to host a huge variety show to honour the life of Amy Tuach who died in 2022 after a battle with diabetes.

The group was set up a couple years ago after the 39-year-old from Muir of Ord died.

This February marks the two-year anniversary of Amy’s passing, prompting the team to mark her legacy by hosting another event in her memory.

They have organised a Blue Lights Got Talent variety show that will unveil the talent of our emergency services and care workers in the Highlands.

Organisers are describing it as the 'most fun-filled, variety show the Highlands will see'.

Event organisers are set to launch their search for talented staff from the emergency services, prison service, coastguard service, armed forces and those working in care.

The performances will be scored via audience votes, in addition to judges scoring and the winning act will walk away with £1000 to donate to their chosen charity.

Blue Light’s Got Talent will raise funds for Highland Hospice and Cash for Kids, as well as other local charities close to the Celebrating Amy team.

Since the inception of Celebrating Amy, the team has raised more than £30,000 for numerous local charities including the hospice, Mikeysline, Cash for Kids, Step Up for Sam and Dream, and Believe Achieve.

Amy’s daughter Chloe Tuach, who is part of the team, was crowned fundraiser of the year at the Highland News and Media Highland Heroes awards in 2023.

Amy's husband Gary said: "I have always had a vision to put on a variety show and would be delighted to see members of the fire brigade do the Full Monty, doctors and nurses forming together to be an Abba tribute band, a prison officer as a magician, or a police officer as a comedian. The list is endless.

"What I want is a fun-filled night with local talent and a chance for us all to thank our incredible services right here in the Highlands.

"I am hopeful this event will catch the imagination of people and I would love the support of local businesses who would like to get involved in corporate sponsorship or coming along to the night by purchasing tables and tickets for the event.

"We are also on the call out for auction and raffle prizes for the event and would be delighted to receive these.

"These events don’t run without the generous support of the local people, and we are always very grateful for the support we receive.

"If you or someone you know is a blue light worker with a talent that deserves to be seen, then this is the competition for you!

"You’ll be fully supported throughout your journey from a team of experts who will assist in polishing those performances ready for the live final.

"It promises to be an incredible evening in memory of a very special lady."

The event will take place at the Drumossie Hotel, in Inverness, on September 21.
