Chloe Tuach has won the fundraiser of the year category at Highland Heroes, having got used to helping others from a very young age.

Chloe learned to adapt her life from when she was small to care for her mum Amy, from Muir Of Ord who had diabetes. From the age of eight, Chloe had to call ambulances and doctors to help her mum.

After Chloe's mum died, the charity Celebrating Amy was set up in her memory to raise money for charities across the Highlands that supported Amy through her illness – as well as others that were close to her heart.

Chloe and her dad Gary – with a group of friends – organised a charity event, Celebrating Amy Vegas Style, in October last year.

It raised over £30,000 for local charities Highland Hospice, Celebrating Amy Community Fund and Mikesyline, who turn to social media to thank the charity for "a whopping £12,500" donation. A Highland Hospice spokesman said it was an incredible night.

Those who nominated Chloe for the Highland Heroes fundraiser awards said that not just this year, but for years before, Chloe has been an inspiration to many with so much raised for local charities!

Speaking about winning the fundraiser category, Chloe said: "I am happy and shocked and it is quite overwhelming to be honest.

"I did it for my mum and that is why I wanted to win."

She said she would like to thank all those who voted for her, and her dad, who is her best friend.

Speaking about the fundraising plans for this year, Chloe added: "We have a couple of plans for this year, including one at Bogbain!"

Well done Chloe – and watch this space for her next fundraising event!
