An Inverness barber shop is appealing for help after a break-in left it empty.

TM Barbers in Tomnahurich Street was broken into between Saturday afternoon and this morning.

Owner Tracy Morris arrived at the shop to find that all the shop equipment had been stolen, along with her safe and a charity fund for Mikeysline.

She is now looking for help from the community to lend her hair appliances until her insurance comes through.

Ms Morris said: “Everything is gone. Clippers, scissors,hair dryers, all of it.

“We just need anything that can be lent to us until our insurance comes through as we can’t work without it.

“The Mikeysline money has also been taken. It is absolutely disgusting. I was so upset when I arrived.”

Ms Morris had recently just run a pensioner raffle, where she helped several elderly people with the cost-of-living.

A Police spokesperson said: “We received a report on Tuesday, 6 December, of a housebreaking at a premises in Tomnahurich Street, Inverness.

“The incident happened between 1.30pm on Saturday, 3 December, and 9am on Tuesday, 6 December.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0576 of Tuesday, 6 December, 2022.”
