A barber shop who was broken into over the weekend has been overwhelmed at the response from kind locals.

Tracy Morris who owns TM Barbers on Tomnahurich Street was devastated when she walked into her shop on Tuesday morning to find all her equipment had been stolen, alongside her safe and a charity collection for Mikeysline.

The Inverness Courier put out an appeal for equipment for her so she would be able to work over the festive period. Since then she has received a great response from individuals and calls of concern.

Ms Morris said: "I have got some equipment from Sean from Choppers Barbers in Inverness which is really nice of him.

"I think I have someone coming in with large scissors. I've had lots of messages and people checking I'm okay.

"The public have been amazing - so a big thank you!"

Ms Morris hopes to be back open on Friday December 9.
