Runners dressed up for the occasion at the annual Nairn Turkey Trot as they raced through the streets in some spectacular costumes on Boxing Day.
A total of 234 runners competed in the annual event on Tuesday morning which saw a massive increase from the 160 runners who took part last year.
Runners congregated at the Maggot Playing Field before setting off alongside the riverside before finishing at the point where it started.
The race was not about who was the fastest, but the winner was crowned who was closest to their estimated finishing time.
Runners were not allowed to wear watches or timekeeping devices during the race.
Runners from a number of athletics clubs were represented, with people also taking part in fancy dress ranging from wearing Santa Claus costumes to competing in inflatable turkey outfits.
Afterwards all athletes were invited back to the Seamans Hall where results were collated to discover who was this year's winner.
Nairn Road Runners once again organised the race and club chairman Kevin Reid was pleased with how it went.
He said: "Last year we had 160 and this year we had 234 entries so that was around a 50 per cent increase from last year.
"I think that everyone had a good time, the course was cleared of the ice and we had much better weather than last year when it was snowing.
"We were very confident that it would go ahead this morning, we did put out salt on the course and there were no fallers which was good.
"The fastest time on the day was 16 minutes and 45 seconds and it was a fast course."
Reid says it was fantastic so many people turned up to take part in the event on Boxing Day which has become an important part of the town's festive traditions.
He said: "It is great for Nairn, it is always a bit of a concern as we have no idea before the day how many people are going to turn up and it helps the club keep going every year.
"We had runners from Aberdeen and Muir of Ord who travelled to Nairn to take part.
"It was a great race and now we are looking forward to other races which will take place next year too."
