SAMSON Lawal says Inverness Caledonian Thistle fans should expect something big from him while on loan from Livingston.

The Nigerian midfielder arrived from the Scottish Premiership club on loan last week amid an injury crisis at Inverness.

The Nigerian under-20 international was an unused substitute in the 2-0 win over Greenock Morton last weekend.

He could make his debut in the Scottish Championship clash against Airdrieonians at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Lawal says if he is given the opportunity, he hopes he can produce a performance which will please Caley Thistle fans.

"Fans should be expecting something big, because I see at this club they like to play on the ground.

"That is the part I am used to playing in and I can't wait to play in front of the fans here."
Speaking about his loan deal from Livingston, he said: "They want me to get minutes here to play and that is why I am here.

"I am so happy to be here and to be part of this club as I know this is a good club because all my teammates are also happy for me to be here."

Lawal signed for Livingston last August on a three-year deal after arriving from Katsina United in Nigeria.

He said he has taken time to get used to Scottish football, but is confident he can succeed.

"It is difficult for me because it was my first experience in Scotland. But I think that I am getting used to everything now.

"In Scotland it is different. I like to play on the ground, but when I first came to Scotland, I would see long balls the entire time.

"That is a little bit difficult for me to adapt, and now I think I can play that now."

Lawal says he was impressed by what he saw from Inverness in their 2-0 win over Greenock Morton last week.

He says it gives him confidence they can move out of the relegation zone ahead of their clash with Airdrieonians on Saturday.

Speaking about the result at Morton, he said: "I was happy because they won the game that day and that gave me confidence to be part of this club.

"I like the training and how we are playing in training. I like it so much.

"I have been training for four days now and that will give me a lot of confidence to show everyone that I am here to play for the team.

"If we can win three games or four games, we can get up to the top half."
