The 20-year-old Irishman was on trial with Inverness yesterday during the 1–0 pre-season friendly win over Brora Rangers at Dudgeon Park.

Delaney (20) was released by West Bromwich Albion after spending last season on loan at Bath City in National League South.

Delaney made 29 appearances for Bath City last season.

As reported yesterday, Caley Thistle are also in talks to bring striker George Oakley back to the club.

Oakley (26) also played on trial for Inverness against Brora Rangers yesterday.

Oakley played for Inverness between 2017 and 2019 when he was brought to the club by former manager John Robertson.

He left to join Hamilton Academical who were in the Premiership, where he spent 18 months under former Caley Thistle assistant manager Brian Rice.

He then moved to Bulgaria to play for Pirin Blagoevgrad in the summer of 2020 where he spent six months before joining Kilmarnock in January 2021.

He spent six months in Ayrshire before the club was relegated from the Premiership and moved back to England to play for Woking in the National League last season.
