Winners of the Inverness City Centre Business Awards revealed

Over 200 people turned up to an awards ceremony to celebrate Inverness's best city centre businesses.

The Inverness City Centre Business Awards took place at the Drumossie Hotel, which saw 37 awards being given out to a range of businesses from bars to cafés to offices.

Organised by Inverness BID the event was hailed an 'outstanding evening' where each business had got to the finals via a public vote.

The full list of winners:

National retailer of the year 2023

Independent retailer of the year 2023

Winner: Colin Campbell Jewellers

Highly commended: The Health Shop

Boutique or menswear retailer of the year 2023

Winner: Slaters

Highly commended: Begg Shoes

Connoisseurs Choice Award 2023

Winner: Hotel Chocolat

Highly commended: Story Chocolates

City centre restaurant of the year 2023

Winner: The Mustard Seed

Highly commended: Café 1

City centre café of the year 2023

Winner: Girvans

Highly commended: Perk Coffee & Doughnuts

City centre takeaway of the year 2023

Winner: Miele's Gelateria

Highly commended: Lettuce Eat

Health & wellbeing business of the year

Winner: Sleeping Beauty Salon (Margaret Street)

Winner: The Head Gardener

Professional or business services award 2023

Winner: Macleod & MacCallum

Craig Duncan, co-chairman of BID, owner of Craigton Foods and McDonald’s franchisee, said: “It has been an outstanding evening celebrating some of the fantastic and diverse businesses that make up our city centre.

"It means so much more that the commendations are chosen by the people who matter most – our customers and clients so many congratulations on behalf of the board of Inverness City Centre BID to all of our finalists and award winners.”

Colin Craig, co-chairman of BID and owner of Oil & Vinegar, added: “It has been superb! Our city centre business community helps to make our centre what it is and providing excellent customer service as well as caring and having passion seems key.

"Getting to the final out of hundreds of businesses is a fantastic achievement so very well done to all. Thank you also to all our sponsor the Inverness Courier and all the people who helped make tonight happen.”
