A new one-stop beauty and fashion boutique has landed in Inverness.

Rumours Boutique was opened last weekend by savvy make-up artist Rachael Tankard.

The shop will combine beauty and hair services, with fashion, as there will be clothing and accessories arriving to the boutique in July.

Ms Tankard (29) who has been in the industry for 13 years felt like there was a gap in the market after visiting Glasgow and London.

“I just felt like there was a market for something a bit different in Inverness,” she explained.

“I spend a lot of time in Glasgow and London and I see how they really utilise their space and it’s never just one thing they have in it. They have hairdressers in laundrettes there.

“I wanted to get into the fashion and clothing side of things as well so I thought why not bring it both together and then you have a one-stop-shop.”

Alongside Ms Tankard providing make-up and semi-permanent make-up services, there are already two hairdressers in place.

Two treatment rooms, a nail station and another two to three make-up and brow stations are also available for rent at the boutique based in Union Street.

Ms Tankard added: “The idea is that somebody can come in on a Saturday and get their make-up done for a night out but they can also pick up a pair of shoes, a bag or a top.

“It just makes sense to have it all together.

“I think fashion and beauty go hand in hand so it’ll be nice to see the clothing when it’s all in and working together.”

Ms Tankards’ wee pug, Murphy, keeps clients entertained.

She said: “ I love what I do. It doesn’t feel like work when I get to have a blether with my clients.”
