A Highland photographer 'ticks off bucket list item' for a second time after capturing two newly-weds glowing under the picturesque skies in Inverness.

Kerry and Stephen Campbell, from Inverness, hired Michael Carver as their wedding photographer in the hope of him capturing them beneath an Aurora display.

The photographer recently became a viral sensation after stumbling across the Northern Lights at not one, but two of the weddings he has worked at.

He joked: "I should start offering a Northern Lights photo package!"

Kerry said: "Not in a million years did I think it would actually happen for us.

"I was obviously aware of Michael’s previous Northern Lights photo and even joked with my hair stylist Laura Ross and make-up artist Hannah Wilkie in the morning that how incredible the photo was. But never could have imagined being able to share such a moment as newly-weds!"

Michael was working for the young couple's wedding at the stables art centre in Cromarty when he stumbled upon one of the world's most magnificent backdrops for any photo: the Northern Lights.

Immediately, Michael felt the urge to capture the couple underneath the skies that created a kaleidoscope of colours and tones.

He said: "I have an app that alerts me when there's a chance of the Northern Lights, so when my phone pinged and I went outside for a quick look.

"I could see it was reasonably green, but pretty dull and not very bright at all, so immediately spoke to the couple at the top table.

"They were just about to eat their main meal, but didn't want to miss the opportunity, so we all went outside.

"Kerry had to climb over a fence in her wedding dress and it was very cold!

"The first couple of shots were very dull and I thought I had missed it, but then we moved along a bit and all of a sudden the sky lit up.

"I've never seen it as bright as it was. It was like there were like lasers popping about the sky."

He continued: "Its good for me, but its even better for the couple as now they have this photo that nobody else has got, so its pretty cool."

The newly weds were 'delighted' to have the incredible experience captured in a photo, but never expected it would actually happen.

Kerry said: "We were waiting for our main meal to come out when Michael came through and showed us the alert that there was a chance we could capture the Northern Lights, it wasn’t even a question for us. We knew it was an opportunity we couldn’t miss!

"We straight away stood up from the table and rushed outside with one of our bridesmaids and Michael was excited but not quite believing that we'd ever fully capture it! We ran past the caterers who said they’d keep our food warm!

"The sky was still and clear but freezing! I had to climb a fence in my dress but if there was even the smallest chance of capturing the Northern Lights I was there!

"When we first went outside we couldn’t see anything, then all of a sudden the sky lit up and seemed to dance in front of our eyes. The moment was so special and intimate and something we will remember forever!

"It was just incredible and a once in a lifetime opportunity. The perfect night."

The photo has been a viral success as it has received thousands of likes and comments via Facebook as people are blown away by the incredible scene.
