Visit Inverness Loch Ness Tourism boss 'delighted' to have received successful BID renewal

Visit Inverness Loch Ness has said its 'delighted' to have received a successful Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) Renewal Ballot.

It says this will allow it to move forward in collaboration with its members, communities, and stakeholders to deliver the 2024-2029 Business Plan.

The organisation represents an area totalling 1200 square miles, including more than 40 communities.

Chief executive of Visit Inverness Loch Ness, Don Johnstone, expressed his gratitude and excitement, stating: "We are thrilled by the tremendous support shown by our member community in the successful renewal of the TBID.

“Inverness and Loch Ness is not just a destination; it’s an experience waiting to be embraced. Nestled in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, our region boasts a rich tapestry of culture, history, and natural beauty.

“It is a privilege to lead a team dedicated to supporting and showcasing the best of what Inverness, Loch Ness and surrounding areas has to offer to the world.”

Visit Inverness Loch Ness will continue to promote investment in infrastructure, events, and initiatives aimed at enriching the visitor experience.

More than 1 in 4 people are directly employed in tourism throughout Inverness and Loch Ness, which welcomes in the region of 1.6 million visitors per year and generates an estimated £330 Million of economic benefit for the area.

Developing tourism responsibly is also at the forefront of its priorities, and it says it will continue to promote initiatives that seek to enhance and preserve the natural and cultural beauty for generations to come.
