UPDATE: Two people treated – one in hospital – after three-vehicle crash on A835 Inverness to Dingwall road

Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle road crash on the A835 Inverness to Dingwall road earlier this afternoon.
One person was being treated at the scene of the accident, while another was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
The road currently remains closed in both directions while police enquiries continue, with reports of heavy congestion and delays on surrounding nearby routes.
One casualty was cut free from the wreckage of the crash south-east of Conon Bridge.
Police and ambulance service staff were first to the scene of the accident on the A835 Inverness to Dingwall route near Newton of Ferintosh just after 1pm.
Paramedics then called for fire crew assistance and three appliances and a heavy rescue unit attended.
The Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and one patient is being treated on scene. A second patient has been transported to Raigmore Hospital.”
It is understood that two vehicles remain at the scene, a black hatchback and maroon SUV – along with police patrolling the area.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We were requested to attend by ambulance crew members at around 1.20pm.
“One casualty was released by hydraulic cutting equipment.
“Our last appliance left the scene just after 2pm."
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were made aware of a three vehicle crash on the A835 north of Tore Roundabout around 1.10pm on Thursday, 13 July.
“The road is currently closed and emergency services are at the scene.”
Traffic Scotland is still reporting the A835 as closed in both directions at Newton of Ferintosh, with road users are advised to exercise caution on approach and allow extra time for their journeys.
