Scottish Water have located a burst main near Howford Road in Nairn after large areas of the town woke up without water supply this morning.

Residents have reported interruption to their water supply since the early hours of this morning (December 18).

This has also caused the delayed opening at Nairn Academy and Rosebank and Millbank Primary.

According to Scottish Water's latest update operatives are currently on-site to carry out a repair and alterations to the network have been carried out in order to restore the water supply while repairs are underway.

A spokesperson said: "Affected customers should see their water supplies restore within the next two hours as the network recovers.

"Please be aware that you may experience no water supply or low/intermittent water pressure until a repair is complete. You may also experience discoloured water."
