UPDATE: Road re-opens in Inverness after lorry hits rail bridge

AN Inverness road has re-opened to traffic after being closed for several hours due to a lorry hitting a rail bridge.
The incident happened near the junction of Lower Kessock Street and Thornbush Road in Merkinch about 11.10am resulting in disruption to local roads.
Police officers attended the scene and put diversions into place.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said the road re-opened about 4.05pm.
The incident also led to the closure of the the Far North Line and Kyle Line.
ScotRail said alternative transport had been arranged for rail passengers travelling north of Inverness.
