A driver escaped injury after a lorry overturned at a railway bridge in Inverness.

Police are at the scene in Lower Kessock Street following the accident at 11.10am.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said there were no injuries and traffic diversions are in place.

The Far North Line and Kyle Line has also been closed.

A ScotRail spokesman said: "Because of a lorry colliding with a bridge between Inverness and Beauly all lines are closed. Disruption is expected to last until around 1.30pm today.

"Train services between Inverness and Dingwall will be delayed or revised.

"The bridge will need to be examined by our staff. Our response team are en-route to examine this and will be on site shortly."
