UPDATE: One person injured two-car crash on A96 near Inverness

One person was injured in a two-car crash that partially closed the A96 earlier today.

Police Scotland confirmed the casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance after the collision between Newton of Petty and Tornagrain just before 4pm.

Police, fire and paramedic crews attended and the road remains closed westbound.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman gave an updated comment, saying said: "We were made aware of a crash involving two cars on the A96 near the Balloch junction around 3.50pm on Friday, 10 November.

"Emergency services attended and one person was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"The road is closed westbound."
