A young collie pup found in an Inverness neighbourhood has been successfully reunited with her owner, police have confirmed.

Officers in the city had posted an appeal to their Facebook page earlier on Thursday afternoon after the young pup was found near the Co-op in Wester Inshes.

Despite officers saying the cute wee thing was having "a ball of a time" at their police station in Burnett Road, they were eager to reunite her with her owner.

And in an update posted barely an hour after their original social media appeal, officers were delighted to confirm the happy news.

"Thanks to the power of Facebook, our four-legged friend in Inverness has been reunited with her owner," said a police spokesperson.
