Police in Inverness have appealed for help tracing a puppy's owners after a young female collie was found near a supermarket in the city.

The female collie pup was found near to the Co-op store in Wester Inshes.

"She is now at the police station at Burnett Road in Inverness and is having an absolute 'ball' of a time," said police, after launching an appeal on their social media channels.

"Unfortunately, there are no details on her microchip, so if you recognise her please get in touch!

"Until then, we are enjoying her company."
