UPDATE: A GP was on hand to treat injured woman involved in Inverness collision

A GP was sent to the scene of an Inverness collision to help treat an injured woman.

The incident was just before noon yesterday and involved a truck and a mobility scooter.

As well as police officers an ambulance and a doctor were sent to the scene in Longman Road.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We received a call at 1148 hours to attend an incident on Longman Road in Inverness.

"One ambulance and a GP was dispatched to the scene, and we transported the patient to hospital.”

It is understood that the woman's injuries did not appear to be serious.
