Police officers were called out to the scene of a collision in Inverness.

It was between a truck and a mobility scooter in Longman Road around noon today.

One witness said the woman on the scooter was being treated in an ambulance near Kwik Fit.

He added that there were two traffic police officers, as well as some from the nearby station, currently at the scene.

"The electric mobility scooter was on its side at the front of the flatbed truck," he said. "The person was stretchered into the ambulance."

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 11.50am officers were called to a report of a crash involving a lorry and a mobility scooter on Longman Road, Inverness.

"Emergency services are at the scene."

It is understood that the road is open and the woman's injuries do not appear to be serious.
