HEAD-TURNING fundraiser Speedo Mick continued his bone-chilling John O'Groats to Land's End walk through the Highlands today with a special message to his supporters.

Michael Cullen (57) is making the epic 1000-mile Jogle trip – or "stomp" as he calls it – clad in his trademark blue Everton Speedo swimming trunks and little else.

He's using his own recovery from a desperate situation to provide inspiration to others and highlight the importance of mental health support.

Speaking from near Skiach Services just of the A9 in Easter Ross he said donations to his GoFundMe page had increased to over £34,000. He said: "Thank you so much honestly from the bottom of my heart. Thanks for all the beeps – I'm feeling the love. Thank you so much for all your support."

He reminded people of his goal to highlight mental health issues and suicide prevention. He invited people to donate if they are able to and to share the story if they are not.

In another self-shot clip he's pictured on the roadside of the A9 at the turnoff for Arabella and Invergordon, Barbaraville, Milton, Kildary and Scotsburn.

On that one he posted: "Freeeeeezing but I'm stomping on, 33K donated."

One commenter posted: "Put some clothes on mate please. No one will think any less of you it's Baltic here."

He has set himself a target of £50,000 for the effort.

He said: "Sadly after I have finished this next challenge i will be hanging up my blue knickers for ever more.

"I have spent seven years tirelessly fundraising for charity and im a bit knackered now and I also want to spend more time with my loved ones as we don't have them forever do we.

"But it's not over yet we have this last walk to complete before I say goodbye to my stomping days, I'm no spring chicken you know.

"On this next challenge i will be will be fundraising for something that is very close to my heart and that is mental health and suicide prevention. I have suffered from mentalhealth most of my adult life and still do suffer from it to this day."

His fundraising page can be found here.
