Inverness Tennis and Squash Club has paid tribute to a member who died last week following a collision while she was cycling.

In a statement on social media a club spokesman said: "As many will know, we lost Jane Davey tragically last week. There have been many tributes to Jane by family, friends and colleagues who are all shocked to lose her so suddenly.

"Jane was such a big part of our club, a great ambassador for us and the club was richer for her presence and we all feel her loss deeply.

"Jane was a huge supporter of the club in many ways, in her frequent attendance and her many hugely generous financial donations to the club over the years.

"She was a great tennis and squash player, ladies squash club champion and also played Squash for Scotland at masters level.

"She was a positive, outgoing person who was always quick to smile and listen to people even if they just wanted a moan. She was there for all of us.

"Jane will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her at the club and we send our deepest condolences to James and her daughter Anna."
