Highland Council “deeply shocked” at death of colleague following tragic cycling accident

Highland council has paid tribute to a solicitor who died suddenly on Tuesday (January 31).

Jane Davey was involved in a collision with a Dacia Sandero car while cycling on Mains of Bunachton, Dunlichty at around 12.50pm on Monday.

Chief executive, Donna Manson has paid tribute to the principal solicitor litigation who was based at the council’s headquarters in Inverness.

She said: “We are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Jane and extend our deepest condolences to her husband, family, friends and colleagues.

“Jane worked with the Council for 25 years, joining in 1997 and in recent years developed her specialism in supporting the Health and Social Care Service.”

The council is providing support to her family and colleagues at this difficult time.
