Highland Council has said it will remove grafitti from a play park in Inverness, but it is not happy about it.

In a strong message it said removing the grafitti was a "total waste" of money – when it could be used on other works and services.

Yesterday, The Courier reported on the "hugely offensive" Nazi and Ku Klu Klan grafitti at the Milton pitches.

Parents and workers noted the vandalsim of KKK and swastikas on the tarmac next to a child's slide.

A council spokesman said – “Any incidents of graffiti should be reported to the police so they can investigate. Now we have been made aware of it our staff will take action to cover the offensive graffiti.

"Graffiti and vandalism is a total waste of tax payers money and diverts resources from council works and services. We urge anyone with information to contact Police on 101 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
