An Inverness convenience store has changed hands.

Premier Stores in Lochalsh Road is now under new ownership and will be trading as V&C Stores.

Having been run by Joe Mooney as Mooney’s Store for the past few years he decided to sell it following an approach from the V&C partnership so that he could focus on his new project at Tornagrain Stores.

Councillor Duncan Macpherson for Inverness South said: "New owner Chris Sammons explained to me that he and business partner Venkata Gaddam have taken over V&C Stores.

"The new joint owners are already experienced retailers around Inverness, as Chris owns the Costcutter Shop in North Kessock and has been running it successfully for over two years, complete with its village Post Office, located close to the North Kessock Hotel.

"Venkata Gaddam owns the busy Crown Stores convenience store with its Post Office in Kingsmills Road near the Heathmount Hotel in the Crown area of Inverness.

"Wishing the new businesses: Joe Mooney at Tornagrain Stores and Venkata Gaddam and Chris Sammon of V&C Premier Store, every success for the New Year ahead."
