POLL: What do you think about the new corronavirus social distancing barriers in Inverness city centre? Do you prefer them or do you like the old white and orange version or do you think they are not needed?

Work on installing the new look Covid-19 social distancing barriers began in Inverness city centre last week.

They were a marked contrast to the existing orange and white colour scheme the replacements are now grey and black.

And, while the old ones were low down and weighty the new ones consist of a series of upright posts.

The work was being carried out in Bridge Street on Friday, by contractors from MacGregor Construction for Highland Council, and it is understood that they will be rolled out across the city centre in the coming weeks.
