New look Covid-19 social distancing barriers were being installed in Inverness city centre today.

Unlike the existing red and white colour scheme the replacements are now grey and black.

And, while the old ones were low down and weighty the new ones consist of a series of upright posts.

The work was being carried out in Bridge Street, by contractors from MacGregor Construction for Highland Council, and it is understood that they will be rolled out across the city centre in the coming weeks.
