A petition set up to have a law introduced to stop any further developments on Culloden Battlefield has achieved more than 4000 supporters.

But what do you think?

In a reader poll we asked if Culloden Battlefield should be designated as a war grave and given special protection in law against any further development on the site.

The results are in, and readers overwhelmingly agreed.

In what can only be described as a landslide victory, those voting 'yes' totalled 96%, or 2066 people. While 76 people or four per cent said further development on the site should be dealt with in a case by case basis.

The poll, that remains open for three more days, was in response to a wider petition from a Culloden Battlefield campaign group.

The poll can be found here.
