Station Park turned multicolour at the weekend for Nairn County's match day against Fraserburgh.
On Saturday, March 16, the football club organised their second fundraising day for local charity TeamHamish – the first one back in March 2023 – raising around £2000 across both days.
A partnership started in August 2022 with the design of the hugely popular TeamHamish third shirts, it resulted in £5000 donated to the charity until now.
The home team – who lost to Fraserburgh 0-3 – donned the special rainbow-coloured kit for the last time, with the shirts now up for sale, with all the proceeds going to the charity.
Nairn County FC committee member Michael Bochel said: "It was a very positive day! Although we didn't get the result we wanted football-wise, it was still a really good day with a lot of activities, donations and colours.
"The partnership was born in August 2022 when I got involved with the club – historically Nairn County has always been active in the community but I thought we could do more through our third shirt. So, we designed the new shirts and presented them to TeamHamish, they were delighted.
"At the time I didn't really think of going anywhere else. Team Hamish have done such great work for the community – and out of such tragic circumstances. It felt natural to support them.
"However we couldn't anticipate how popular they would get. The TeamHamish shirts have become the best-selling Nairn County shirt of all time. When we launched them at the Nairn Games in 2022, we were sold-out by lunch time!
"Since 2022 we have raised around £5000 for them – through shirt sales, charity dips and fundraise and we are hoping to raise a bit more with the sale of the match-worn shirts which are available for £75. Replica shirts will also still be available at our club shop and online but only until the remaining stock lasts."
As the two-year partnership draws to a close, the club is set to announce a new charity partnership this summer – with a new dedicated shirt being designed.
Sam Hey from Team Hamish commented: "It was a great afternoon at NCFC on Saturday – so much generosity and support for TeamHamish from all the fans!
"We are thankful to Nairn County – they put all the hard work in to making it such a success."
