AN evening of dance and live music has raised funds for two well-deserving local causes.

Performing to a capacity audience the Reel Easy Ceilidh and Nairn Speldings, alongside musician Eileen Solan, raised a total of £2000 for Nairn Beach Wheelchairs and Nairn County Ground Improvements Fund.

The night, opened by the Nairn Pipe Band, saw a mix of ceilidh dances and tunes performed by the band, alongside a raffle and silent auction – and a special appearance of the North of Scotland Cup.

Organiser Donald Wilson said: “Everyone had a great night – a real community event supporting two great causes.

“There were many highlights of the evening, but the arrival of Nairn County club secretary Ian Finlayson with the North of Scotland Cup was quite special.

“The club is rooted in the community and we were delighted to help the Wheelchairs Group.”

This round of the Nairn County Ground Improvements Fund is aimed at providing new floodlights at Station Park.

You can support the Nairn Beach Wheelchairs Group through their Just Giving page.
