A North Kessock lifeboat team was busy in the water yesterday – washing almost 300 cars to raise vital funds for RNLI.

Volunteers at RNLI Kessock Lifeboat raised more than £3000 at their annual car wash fundraiser – with 41 cars added to last year's total.

The funds will help support the lifeboat's vital expenses – such as equipment and training costs – allowing them to save lives at sea.

This comes as RNLI is set to celebrate its 200th anniversary on Monday,

A Kessock RNLI spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who came along to have their car washed and to all our volunteers who shook a bucket, washed a car, made the teas and Rolls and kept everyone going.

"Thanks to our sponsors who donated chemicals, signs and time."
