Inverness-based charity Clarity Walk has branched out to offer its services to children.

The move has been well-received with parents, charitable groups and primary schools signing up to offer the walks for children aged between seven and 11.

Clarity Kids Walks will provide 90 minute walks with children at various locations throughout the area.

Clarity Walk founder Matt Wallace (28) said: "Clarity Walk was severely affected with the current lockdown as we were unable to put on our group walks.

"This dramatically reduced our capacity to support people's mental health in the Inverness community.

"However, the restrictions provided an opportunity for innovation as we looked at ways we could adapt to continue support and comply with the law.

"One idea we came up with was Clarity Kids Walks as we saw a need for parents and kids to enjoy time away from each other to improve their wellbeing.

"Clarity Kids Walks provide parents with 90 minutes of free time to relax whilst their kids, aged seven to 11, to explore nature to have fun, learn and connect with other kids."

He continued: "It is a very new service, but feedback has been incredible with parents saying their kids won't stop talking about the walks saying they have made friends, enjoyed the games and can't wait for the next session.

"As part of Clarity Kids Walks, we are going to be working with 3 primary schools on 6-week programs to support the kids who need it most. "

Clarity Walk was set up in 2019 to offer guided 'phone free' walks to adults, it has then adapted to the pandemic and offers supportive online and one-to-one walks.
