A website to help motivate people to take a daily walk has been launched by Inverness-based group, Clarity Walks.

Matt Wallace, the founder of the charitable group, has set up a system to log daily walks in order to give people the nudge to get out and about during lockdown.

Mr Wallace set up Clarity Walks last year to encourage people out into nature, but has had to suspend activities for the time being.

He said: "With lockdown it is more important than ever to escape the four walls and get out in nature for both its physical and mental health benefits.

"However, lockdown affects daily structure and routine, which often stops people getting out and doing things they would have done previously.

"That is why I have created my booking system to help people build structure in their day and be accountable to go a walk.

"People need to get out and exercise for their mental health, and I know this will help."

The walk booking system can be found at www.claritywalk.co.uk/book-a-walk

Users are asked to click on the 'Book A Nature Walk' tab, select the time and day the walk is planned and fill in details about the route.

Walkers will then receive email reminders to encourage them to attend the walk they have booked.
