People watched as piper Scott Taylor performed The Immortal Memory at the flag pole on the top of Inverness Town House this evening.

Highland Council arranged the performance at 6pm as part of the national mourning, with the Queen's funeral due to take place tomorrow.

Schools across the region will be closed tomorrow, due to it being marked as a bank holiday. Many businesses are also closed, or operating with reduced hours, reduced staffing levels or reduced services.

The local authority was also involved in planned performances by pipers at other Highland locations.
