PICTURES: A further look back on 2023 in Inverness, Nairn and Ross-shire

Another year of ups and downs has passed and, while we look forward to what 2024 might bring, it is always good just to pause and reflect on what has passed.

As far as the Inverness, Nairn and Ross-shire areas are concerned our photographers were, as always, there to capture many of the most noteworthy, eye-catching, touching and exciting moments in the lives of our readers.

Earlier this week we showcased some of the great moments captured by photographers Callum Mackay and James Mackenzie – from vital community projects to well-deserved honours, sporting victories and more.

Now here are even more – from the opening of the Haven Centre in Inverness, for families of children with additional support needs, to the winning goal in a hard-fought cup final match and the good sport at a golf club lunch accepting his prize for “best” golf trousers on the day!

Side-by-side with these is the Dingwall recipient of the MBE congratulated by his colleagues, army cadets learning important new skills and a little boy just captured in the moment having fun in the local village hall.
