From Royal visits to tributes to local heroes, community protests and great days out there has been no shortage of goings on touching the Inverness, Nairn and Ross-shire areas in 2023.

Who knows what the next 12 months will bring?

But whatever happens, hopefully you can enjoy a few moments here with just a handful of the many amazing, evocative images our talented, award-winning photographers Callum Mackay and James Mackenzie have managed to capture from across our area in the year that is now just days away from coming to its end.
